Prep Head Start program
Do you have a child starting prep at Cannonvale State School in 2025? We encourage you to join our Prep Head Start program!
At Cannonvale State School we recognise the importance of ensuring all children and families feel safe and comfortable in a new school environment.
Our Head Start program is specifically designed for this purpose.
Head Start runs for 8 exciting sessions from Week 1 to Week 8 in Term 4. Head Start is a great way to introduce your
child to our school, have some fun and get to know our Prep team. This is also an opportunity for our teachers
to get to know you and your child whilst also gathering information on their
social and cognitive skills in a more relaxed setting.
We would like to invite all prospective 2025 Prep students and families to come along, have some fun and help your child have a smooth transition to life of a Preppie.
Session times
- 9 – 10am every Wednesday, 2 October – 20 November
You can choose to come to just one, or all of our sessions (depending on vacancies).
To start Prep your child needs to be 5 years old by 30 June in the year they start. To determine when your child can commence their prep year, use the prep ready reckoner calculator.
The Education
(General Provisions) Regulation 2006 enables principals to consider early entry to Prep for children who turn five
years by 31 July.
